P26   The Commission will Incentivise  affiliation to Dispatch Centers

P26   A pre booking charge may apply to taxis booked in advance.

P26   No pre-booking charge will apply to a taxi hailed on the street or engaged at transport terminals or taxi ranks.

P27   Measures will be Implemented to insure  improved and more accessible booking procedures are established.

P29   With the continuing increase in passengers booking their trips by phone, the Dispatch Censer segment of the market is growing.

The Commission believes it is important to encourage the growth of this sector in a properly regulated fashion.

The Commission is of the view that Dispatch Censer in Ireland are and will continue to be a key element in the provision of a first class service to the travelling public.

Dispatch centers have a critical role to play in ensuring that the customer has the confidence to know that when an intending passenger books a vehicle , the dispatch center has the ability to deliver the service, or where difficulties arise, to inform the customer in a timely fashion so that alternative arrangements can be made.
